Modified Classic Optimo Creased Crown Block. The ridge goes all the way from the front to the back. The deep head fitting suitable for cloches.

In excellent vintage condition. Has modifications in great condition. There is some staining, surface cracking and tissue marks. Will not effect blocking.

History: The Optimo creased crown block was developed to mimic the natural Panama hat that the wearer rolls up and sticks in his pocket when he does not feel like wearing it. After a few roll-ups the crown takes on a natural crease. A favourite of Colonial British expats and British Empire builders, who wore it in the early 1900's throughout the tropical Empire from Malaysia to Hong Kong to India.

The later Panama straw hats were not able to be rolled up, hence the need for a classical Optimo Hat block design.
