Millinery - Wooden Hat Block 3 in 1 Cloche with Stand 117
Maker: Tim Smith Woodturner, Melbourne Australia, still with tag.
Head size: 21 3/4" (55.3cm) Round form. (Can easily be made larger)
Crown 5" tall
Brim: 3" deep
A 3 in 1 cloche block with a domed, peaked crown. gently curved side band to straight collar and deep gently sloping symmetrical brim. String groove at brim edge.
Felt or straw bodies can be blocked in one piece or each part can be blocked individually as the clearly marked crown tip, side band and brim as the guide is clearly marked on the block itself.
The complete cloche block will make a variety of traditional short-brimmed hats depending on where you decide to shape and trim the brim and will not limit you to where the string groove is at the brim edge..
In excellent condition, some watermarks, texta, pin marks and tape residue are evident. A surface crack at collar with not affect blocking. Gorgeous looking attached hat block stand. Could be used as a display piece.
