Warm, soft non fraying and infinitely versatile, felt has a lot to offer the crafts person or the creative worker in textiles. In this book you will discover the felt-making process, using unspun wool fibre, transforming it into a vibrant malleable textile, simply by using soap, water and friction. You can make dyed or undyed felt, plain or patterned, and you can embroider it.
About the Author:
Anne Belgrave lives on the Welsh borders. After an initial training as a sculptor, she worked as a silversmith, and later as a weaver. As a result of keeping sheep and using their wool, she learnt about felt and was immediately intrigued by its potential. She now makes felt hats and rugs for sale and exhibitions. She also gives lectures and runs workshops to inspire people to revive the ancient art of feltmaking.
